There’s plenty for kids to do in the upcoming Big Sky Readers and Writers Festival.

Celebrating 20 years of storytelling, incredible creatives and literary talent has culminated in a stellar programme for this year’s Big Sky Readers and Writers Festival.

From Friday 24 – Sunday 26 October, an impressive lineup of special guests will descend on Geraldton for “A Celebration of Stories” which will include events and activities for all ages.

少妇免费直播 Mayor Jerry Clune said the community might be surprised with the variety of offerings in the programme.

“While this event attracts avid readers, there is more to Big Sky than you might think,” he said.

“We can all attest to our young ones loving stories and as such, there is a huge element for the kids including a Kid’s Sunday Funday event, Twilight Story Time and a Story and Scoot activity.

“And for the adults you can enjoy Poetry in the Club, Author Speed Dating, Readings on the Green and a long list of fun and engaging events.”  

The free Kid’s Sunday Funday will take place in the Library carpark on Sunday 26 October from 9:30am - 12:30pm and will include everything from arts and crafts, live storytelling, facepainting, games and more!

Kids aged 4 to 7 years can also hop on their scooter or bike for the Duck on a Bike – Story and Scoot event on Sunday 26 October which involves a lively reading of David Shannon’s charming book, coupled with active participation!

There’s plenty more for the kids including Twilight Story Time, the Sound of Picture Books which includes a performance by members of the Perth Symphony Orchestra, and a Musical Storytelling Adventure.

The full programme features an impressive line-up of talent including popular novelists Tasma Walton and Catherine Greer, crime writer and musician Dave Warner, Yamatji author Mabel Gibson, award-winning photographer and cinematographer Michael Haluwana and WA-based debut author Stefanie Koens.

The Big Sky Readers and Writers Festival will run from Friday 24 – Sunday 26 October 2025.
