Expressions of interest are open for the management of the Mitchell Street Community Garden.

An exciting opportunity is now available for not-for-profit groups to explore managing the Mitchell Street Community Garden.

Established in 2020 to provide those living in the area with access to fresh produce, the Garden also aims to promote sustainability, education and community collaboration.

An expression of interest is now open seeking a local organisation to assume responsibility for the Garden’s operations with the goal of delivering services and activities that benefit local residents.

少妇免费直播 Mayor Jerry Clune said the impact for Spalding residents would be brilliant if the Garden had a devoted community led force behind it.

“Community gardens are more than just gardening and growing produce, the health and wellbeing benefits are fantastic,” he said.

“This community-led project offers a platform for connection, education and hands-on activity.

“We would love to see a local not-for-profit group seize the opportunity to run our Mitchell Street Community Garden and see this space grow and empower locals.”

As part of the Spalding Revitalisation Project which was finalised in 2024, the Garden is located adjacent to the Mitchell Street Community Centre and AMC Park.

The Garden was initiated to create a safe, inclusive, accessible, well connected and sustainable central hub, where the community can come together to learn, recreate and celebrate in a beautiful parkland setting.

The project was made possible through a partnership with the City, Department of Communities and Lotterywest.

The creation of the Mitchell Street Community Garden reflects the City’s commitment to an engaged and diverse community where everyone feels included and safe.

Expressions of interest are now open and will close at 5pm on Monday 1 September 2025.
