With local government elections approaching, the 少妇免费直播 is inviting community members to attend Candidate Information Sessions to learn more about the roles and responsibilities of Councillors.
Those passionate about making a difference and driving change in the community can come along to gain firsthand insight into what it means to be on Council.
少妇免费直播 Mayor Jerry Clune said the sessions are designed to help prospective candidates understand the expectations and impact of the role.
“Councillors play a vital role in shaping our City’s future and representing the long-term interests of our community,” he said.
“You might be surprised about the diversity of the role and the range of decisions we make.
“I strongly encourage anyone considering running in this year’s election to attend a session and learn more about what the role entails.”
Two sessions will be held:
- Monday 18 August from 5pm to 8pm at the Geraldton Civic Centre
- Wednesday 20 August from 4:30pm to 6pm at Bundiyarra Aboriginal Community Aboriginal Corporation
Presentations will be delivered by the City’s CEO Ross McKim, Mayor Jerry Clune and a representative from the WA Electoral Commission.
Nominations open on Thursday 28 August 2025 and close at 4pm on Thursday 4 September 2025.
This year’s election will take place on Saturday 18 October 2025.
Four seats will be available in this year’s election which will reduce Council from 11 Councillors down to nine, including the Mayor.
Elections are conducted by the WA Electoral Commission as a postal ballot.
Election packages are posted to all electors enrolled on the City's combined electoral roll approximately two weeks before election day with instructions on how to vote.
