Wheelchair basketball, flower arrangements, handprint painting for NAIDOC Week as well as a 3v3 basketball competition in collaboration with PCYC are some of the programs being held at the new Geraldton Youth Centre that are free for young people to enjoy this school break.
The City’s School Holiday Program also includes Fast5 Netball, cooking classes with local chef Kiri Bolton, craft classes, drumming sessions, Dungeons and Dragons and so much more.

“Our officers have prepared another fantastic School Holiday Program and one of the most exciting additions this break is a selection of activities being hosted at our Youth Centre,” he said.
“The official opening of the new space will take place in July and we’re looking forward to celebrating that moment with our valued stakeholders.
“Those who book into the programs being held at the Geraldton Youth Centre will get an exclusive first look, and in usual School Holiday Program fashion - I encourage you to secure your tickets quick because they always sell out.”

Most programs are free thanks to the City’s long-standing partnership with Rio Tinto.
The construction of the Geraldton Youth Centre has been supported by generous funding from Lotterywest and the Centre will officially open towards the end of July with more information to be announced closer to the date.
This program aligns with the “Connected” theme in the new Strategic Community Plan 2025 – 2035, Your Voice – Our Future and Geraldton Youth Strategy 2024 – 2029.
